.TFH was developed by the late Dr. John Thie. He had the vision to bring TFH to the layperson. It was based on the work of Dr. George Goodheart - the father of Applied Kinesiology who applied his knowledge to chiropractic medicine, and the grandfather of Energy Medicine.
It was discovered that each muscle in the body relates to a specific meridian, a pathway of energy running through the body much like currents running through the electrical wiring of a house. These energy imbalances can be found through muscle testing and can be harmoniously balanced by a combination of acupressure/touch, massage, nutrition or gentle massage of the Chinese meridian system. The Touch for Health System is a practical guide to natural health that utilizes acupressure and massage to improve postural balance, and reduce physical and mental pain and tension. It is an approach to restoring natural energies that combines ancient Chinese energy therapies with recent Western developments in kinesiology. It is a very practical tool for the massage therapist: it can be used along with other massage techniques or as a stand-alone methodology for improving health and enhancing health that utilizes acupressure and massage to improve biological recovery.
Touch for Health (TFH) is the most widely used system of kinesiology in the world. It is recognized and respected as the foundation training for other kinesiology systems as well as being a healing modality in it’s own right. Energy Medicine, Brain Gym, Energy Kinesiology, and Energy Psychology are all outgrowths of the Touch for Health body of knowledge.
